Fire Marshal/Warden Training Essential skills and knowledge required by employees fulfilling a fire marshall role.

Overview

This course would be particularly valuable for employees who have responsibilities or defined roles within the organisation’s Fire Management System. It provides attendees with the knowledge and skills required to be a competent fire marshal or warden.

This is a course of particular importance For businesses, because of the legal requirements contained within the 1971 Fire Precautions Act, the 1974 Health & Safety at Work Act and the recent Fire Precautions (Workplace) Regulations 1997.

  • Fire safety legal requirements
  • Principles of fire science – the fire triangle
  • Fire risk assessment
  • Fire prevention measures in the workplace
  • Fire drills
  • Fire safety equipment
  • Emergency procedures in fire situations.
  • Supervised emergency evacuation methods.

On successful completion of the course the delegate will be able to:

  • Understand the importance of fire safety
  • Understand the combustion process and spread of fire
  • Identify suitable fire prevention and protection measures and advise on appropriate action to minimise the risk of fire in the workplace
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of fire drills
  • Appreciate the essentials of fire safety legislation
  • Supervise emergency evacuations.
